DETROIT — Rap artist Sada Baby is being held in the Macomb County Jail after being arrested Tuesday in Sterling Heights, records said.

The 32-year-old Shelby Township resident, whose real name is Casada Sorrell, is facing drug possession charges, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office and court records.

Records also said he has not been arraigned and a hearing has not yet been scheduled.

The arrest stems from an incident involving Sorrell that happened in January, according to court records. He was arrested on a 2023 warrant following a traffic stop in Sterling Heights.

Police learned after they stopped Sorrell that he had been wanted for driving without having a license for at least three years. They searched his pickup truck and found drugs inside.

Last month, Sorrell pleaded guilty to failure to display a license and was immediately sentenced to pay a $200 fine. The original charge was dismissed as part of a plea deal.

Last Friday, a Sterling Heights court issued a warrant for Sorrell's arrest for narcotics possession of less than 25 grams, a four-year felony, according to records. The offense allegedly happened on Jan. 9.

Court records did not list an attorney for Sorrell.
