Tom Cruise always goes "too far" with his action stunts.

The 62-year-old actor has reprised the role of Ethan Hunt to star in 'Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning', and Tom has admitted to taking things to the extreme for his action scenes.

The Hollywood icon told 'Extra': "I always go too far, but I don't mind it. I always go too far."

Tom is willing to put his body on the line in order to make the best movie possible.

The actor - who has suffered various injuries during his career, including a broken ankle while shooting 2018's 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout' - explained: "I fly aerobatic airplanes, I fly jets, I fly helicopters, and this took all of our ability and all of our skill to be able find the camera angles to tell this story."

Tom needs to be in tip-top physical shape to shoot the 'Mission: Impossible' movies. And the veteran film star believes the latest movie will surpass fan expectations.

He said: "Physically, what I had to do to prepare for this thing was quite extreme, and I can tell you this - whatever people see in the trailer or on TV, it is not even a taste of what they have in store for them when they see this film."

Tom is still one of Hollywood's most bankable stars, and he's never lost his passion for filmmaking.

The actor admitted he's fulfilling a "life-long dream" by working in the movie business.

He shared: "It's such a privilege to do what I do.

"It's been a life-long dream of mine to be able to do this and to make movies ... I truly, I love it. That is my, I don't know, it's not what I do, it's who I am.

"It is my honor to entertain."

Tom recently revealed that he hopes to be making movies "into [his] 100s".

The film star admitted that he has no plans to retire from the movie business.

He told The Hollywood Reporter: "I'm going to make them into my 100s.

"I will never stop. I will never stop doing action, I will never stop doing drama, comedy films -- I'm excited."
